Re: 2026 Application
Following my conversation with Bob White, I am writing to express my interest in joining your graduate program at Industrus Engineering for 2027.
I completed my Civil and Environmental Engineering degree with 1st Class Honours at UTS at the end of 2026 under the Vice-Chancellors Outstanding Achievement Scholarship. Industrus Engineering’s reputation for solving complex infrastructure problems and fostering long term ethical and professional development deeply aligns with both my goals and values.
Over the past 18 months I have worked with a diverse range of Engineers and have gained extensive experience and professional development in medium to large infrastructure projects, renewable energy projects, submitting and winning tender submissions and investigating cost and time claims. I look forward to applying these skills and building my professional and personal development throughout and beyond the 12-month graduate role at Industrus.
3.1 A commitment to ethical conduct and the highest standards of professional accountability
Throughout my degree at UTS we often reviewed and applied the Engineers Australia code of ethics to the complex projects that we worked on. Finalising my degree in the past three months I have continued my membership with Engineers Australia and the code of ethics and professional accountability outlined within the Organisation. The values and beliefs align with my own and is something I am proud to uphold throughout my career and at Industrus.
3.2 Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with other engineers and with stakeholders from different fields.
At TBH a majority of my time was spent with the planning and scheduling team which involved monthly site visits to each project in a diverse range of industries. I had continued discussions between the Stakeholders and Contractor’s Site Manager and Engineers as a key role in communicating progress, risks and opportunities throughout each project. Clients were happy with the work and presentation of my work, and I learnt that clear and high-level detail was the key to updating key stakeholders before answering more targeted and precise questions.
3.3 The ability to engage with a creative, innovative and proactive environment.
The work with the planning and scheduling team had short turnaround time for reports and required creative and innovative problem solving for reducing scheduling risks and time delays. As the nature of the work was time sensitive I took a proactive approach in analysing client programs prior to our site visits to ensure I was well informed and capable of making real time connections to downstream delays and opportunities whilst conversing with site managers and engineers. I learnt through this that I saved time on the backend whilst producing reports for clients as I was well informed about the project timeline and progress through active questioning and discussions.
3.4 Demonstrated ability to use and manage information.
At TBH I additionally worked in the integrated project controls, which consisted of managing and reporting on project controls for a joint project between the two major energy network and distribution companies in NSW. I was in charge of assisting with the management of joint resources and co-ordination between the two companies as well as updating the running actual cost and remaining budgeted cost. I learnt that accuracy of data and reporting is vital to communication between clients and keeping a project on track and under budget.
3.5 The ability to manage your own performance in a professional environment.
Within TBH, resources were provided to monitor each team members capabilities and professional development whilst working through projects and to be used for bi-quaterly performance reviews. I made sure to update this and write detailed and concise notes on key learning points and experiences gained at the closure or end of my involvement in the vast array of projects I worked on at TBH. This process and work resulted in being offered two raises and assisted in developing my career and personal development during my tenure. This is an activity I wish to continue and build on for the remainder of my career.
3.6 A demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to show leadership when required.
Within the first few months of my internship role at TBH I was fully booked out on my utilisation chart to work with multiple different teams in changing fields. This meant that I had to be adaptable and manage my time well to complete work in time for each leader. I achieved great results as each team leader consistently approved of my work and were not only happy with my ability to complete high quality work but explain my processes and results to senior consultants and associates.
Additionally in my second month I was afforded the opportunity to open the Eastern Region Quarterly Staff meeting to 100+ senior employees. Another great opportunity that I utilised to build my leadership and communication skills.
I’m seeking a role where I can contribute meaningfully whilst developing further hands-on expertise and take on key responsibilities within my first year as a post graduate. I am available full time, and I’d be delighted to have the opportunity to discuss how I can support Industrus’s project teams.
Thankyou for your time and consideration. I’ve attached my resume and am available to at your convenience.
Warm Regards,
Arleigh Eden
